Someone asked for proof that there isn't a god. Please tell me what you would accept as proof of there being no gods. What would it take to convince you that there's no god?

And if there is nothing you would accept as proof, please stop asking people to provide it.

Yes, I realize you can't prove a negative. But since so many people ask us to, I wanted to know what they would consider proof.

Sorry, starjumper, lack of stuff existing is not proof of no god, since you have not established that for stuff to exist, there must be a god.

Thats funny, the atheists are not anwersing the question, what a surprise.

Evidence, there is plenty of evidence there is a God.

#1. Bible has been historically proofed by archeology and old civilizations.

#2 There is plenty of proof that Jesus did exist. Bible, texts from roman and Jewish writes and the fact that chrisitanity exists is evidence that Jesus did exist. You may not have faith in him or his miracles, but there is plenty of evidence he did exists.

#3 in revelation there are prophecies about the end, world wars, hunger, youngster been disobedient to their parents, earthquakes, disease, etc....Again could be some evidence. These prophecies where written about 2000 years ago, some 3000 plus years ago.

#4 Atheists say they don't believe in God, but they sometimes mock him and even take admit to take sides with the devil. Some atheists I know like spiritual movies of demons etc. Evidence they are been blinded by the devil himself?

#5 There is many weird phenomenon that happens in this planet, African religion such a voodoo are based on evil spirits. Evidence Satan and his demons roam this earth, could be.

#6 Humans have a need for spirituality and love, why?

#7 Oldest civilizations on earth like Egypt and mesopotamia are only 3000-4500 years old. If humans have evolved during the past 1 million years, why is our oldest grand civilizations only 4500 years old. It fits with the bible story. Evidence? Yes.

I could go on and on.

So atheists, don't say there is no evidence.

It's been commonly accepted among logicians for a loooong time that you cannot prove a negative with absolute certainty.

For example, you CAN'T prove that Santa Claus doesn't exist. For every question some doubter has (how can he visit so many houses in one night), there's some bit of nonsense that a Clausist could make up (he has a rocket-propelled sled). And so on, ad infinitum.

No, the usual assumption is that the person making a claim as to God's or Santa's existence has the burden of proof.

This is just the problem. You are asked to believe in something based on pure faith with out any reasonable evidence of proof. That is why religious people think a question like this is logical and reasonable. Once you convince people to believe in air you own them and anything you tell them will make sense.

How can you discuss something or someone who doesn't exist?
The fact that billions of people discuss the most powerful force in the Universe--and since evidence of superiority of forces known and unknown shifts such into the category of invisible to the limited eye, then tell your "friend" that a person has to know God to discuss Him.

Boaz.

You cannot prove a negative. I don't want proof god doesn't exist, because that by definition must be a false premise. I want proof it des exist. So far, I have seen none.

As you well know, one cannot present evidence to show the non-existence of something. It is the god-believers that are making an extraordinary claim that their deity exists. If they wish atheists like me to believe them, they will need to provide positive evidence to support their positive claim.

Arguing that there is no evidence to support a god's non-existence is faulty. Just because you cannot provide evidence to disprove the tooth fairy's existence, doesn't necessarily lead you to now have to believe in the tooth fairy's existence. Does it? It just does not compute that way.

I think that they miss the point when they ask that question. You don't prove something doesn't exist. You prove something DOES exist. As it goes, there is no proof, minus a book and "blind faith", that god exists.

Prove that there is no such thing as a familiarity with the Holy Spirit, or the existence of Christ. Either one.

Total lack of any evidence for something is proof it doesn't exist.

A lack of evidence, means that God is hereby found "guilty" on all counts of not existing.
