You really believe that Jesus is the savior, and that he died for your sins, now go do as much as you can.....i can't get that straight.

This is a very good qeustion. I myself am a Christian so hopefully I can explain this.

The simple answer is that Christians love Jesus so much for dying for us. God asks us to be like Jesus (What Would Jesus Do). Since Jesus dies for us the least we can do is try do imitate him and be a good person.

If you are a true Christain and you really love Jesus then the thought of doing bad doesn't even come into your mind. Yes we make mistakes and sin sometimes but my point is that if you have the attitude that all your sins are forgiven so you can do whatever you want then you don't truely love God and heaven is not the place for you.

Hopefully that makes sense.

This is not TRUE repentence if a person willingly CONTINUES to sin. Jesus looks at the heart, not just your lips when you repent. You may fool yourself, but never can fool God who is Omnipotent. What prevents us from willingly sinning is the Holy Spirit's convicting us. When you have a personal relationship with Jesus, your Savior whom you love, you want to follow and obey Him. You want to walk the walk (with Him), not just talk the talk. The Holy Spirit will not dwell in the Temple of your body if you continue to WIILLINGLY sin and let sin rule you. Hope this helps. And yes there are hypocrites out there, so do not group all Christians together. Like any group, they're not all true to their faith, some just talk the talk, period. God knows!

A proper understanding of Christs' sacrifice and the concept of forgiveness. That and a true desire to be obedient to God by realizing that their lives are not their own; that they and their salvation were bought by a very high price. What I can't get straight is the number of people in here who think that ALL people who claim to be Christians really are. James Jones claimed to be a "Christian", too. Yeah, right. There are always going to be hypocrits who claim to be this and that, but if they truly are not, people will know. Another thing I can't get is "Christians" who long for eternity in Heaven, but can't figure out what to do with themselves or their "time" on a rainy Saturday afternoon. Go figure.

Now where on earth in the Bible does it say "Jesus died for you, now go do as much sin as you can"? That's what you're saying it says, right? You're going to have to show me that one. Jesus did forgive one woman and tell her "now go, and sin no more".

If you want to follow Christ, you turn from sin. But just as a person has to grow and mature as a person, everybody is in their own place in their spiritual journey and that may mean they may become misguided or have problems, just like in secular life.

So, I would say, what keeps them from doing sins is the same thing from what keeps non-Christians from doing things that they consider to be wrong. You want to try to do what's right. But I have yet to meet a perfect person, ever.

the thought behind it is not to sin. but since we are human and do sin, one repents for doing wrong and if one is sincere in wanting forgiveness then the sin is forgiven.
no where is it stated that one is to go out and commit all the sinning that they want to and they will "just" be forgiven.
what prevents most people from committing sin is that they have a conscience and actually know the difference between right and wrong, and realize that there are consequences for committing a wrongful act.

Ezekiel's Vision (Ezekiel Chapter 1)

Then there came a voice from above the vault over their heads as they stood with lowered wings. Above the vault over their heads was what looked like a throne of lapis lazuli, and high above on the throne was a figure like that of a man. I saw that from what appeared to be his waist up he looked like glowing metal, as if full of fire, and that from there down he looked like fire; and brilliant light surrounded him. Like the appearance of a rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the radiance around him.

This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. When I saw it, I fell facedown...

Isaiah's Commission (Isaiah Chapter 6)

In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord seated on a throne, high and exalted, and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him were seraphs, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. And they were calling to one another:

"Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty;
the whole earth is full of his glory."

At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke.

"Woe to me!" I cried. "I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the LORD Almighty."

God has not changed. The fundamental characteristic of God is His Holiness!! Many Christians have forgotten this. When a person gets a handle on this concept, the question that you pose becomes somewhat irrelevent.

It is a travesty, but there are actually some who call themselves "Christian" and continue to purposefully trespass against God and His Word on a daily basis. This is NOT borne out in Scripture as a legitimate path to salvation. If you love another, you will be totally committed to that person and try to NEVER dishonor them. Just for once, God should treat some of us as we treat Him. Then, perhaps we would wake up and fly right. I hope not, but we in America could see that come to pass.
Salvation is by the grace of God, and because of the sacrifice of Christ on the cross. However, we are challenged in the Bible to "work out our own salvation" as well, which means we are to perform as children of God to the best of our abilities. THEN, having done that, we can rest peacefully in the thought that God will accept us (His grace).
To blatantly trespass against God, is to remove ourselves from His side act by act. The Bible says that our "works" will be burned up (or be meaningless) on Judgement Day if we have not lived to His expectations. If we treat other loved ones poorly, the relationship suffers; so it is in our walk with the Lord.

they are forgiven if they confess that god is there father and they go sin no more the bible also says that everyone falls short of the glory
and that no drunkards or such likes shall enter into the kindom of heaven and to repent daily not once so people can sin and not even realize they are sinning it also says to seek the god continually if you are seeking god your not going to stumble

Yeah. Unfortunately there are morons out there who think that they can sin all they want because God will forgive them. Allah wants us to live a good lifestyle, do good deeds towards others, not simple sin life away and then expect everything to be better once we ascend to Heaven.

There are many Christians that actually say that!!!

But really it is about your heart. The true Christian gives his life to the work of God and, while he might make mistakes, tries diligently to please God. And since sin doesn't...he will try to avoid it.

The Christian that say the statment above needs to question whether or not he is really a Christian!

Be blessed.
