My son is 2 and he eats everything that we eat yet his stools are still pretty loose (they always have been-sometimes it looks like normal poop but sometimes it is still "baby poop"). Could something be wrong? is it too much fruit and juice in his diet? Is it normal? Serious answers and suggestions are appreciated

I have read that a toddler should only have at MAX 6 oz of juice and 8 OZ of milk in a day. the milk can also cause loose bowl movements. Also are you sure it's loose and not just geting smushed in his diper? For the longest time i thought my son's bowl movements were loose until he took his first BM in the potty and i could see it was acualy soft but formed wich is what it should be.

I would think it is probably to much juice. 2 year olds shouldn't really have more than 1/2 a cup of juice daily. Fruit has fiber, so they aren't usually the culperate, except grapes.

My daughter is 2 and 1/2 and is the same way. She eats what we eat and her poop is usually very soft and unformed. Not to worry, everyone is different and as long as it isn't diarrhea you should be ok. I assume he isn't potty trained-poop tends to look softer in the diaper than in the potty.

I wouldnt really worry unless he had other symptoms like fever, shivers, throwing up....If he goes to school with other kids and his poop is mushy diarreah poop, then call the dr. and explain. They'll probably tell you not to give him milk and they'll put him on a BRAT diet.
But if its poop one night and normal the next, it sounds like he is fine.

The sugar from the juice makes the bowels release water. I say as long as your child is healthy don't worry.
