Would you hold their hand as a sign of affection and appreciation for being together or would you be embarressed of what people might think?? Both people involved are straight.

IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU NEED TO FIND A NEW LOVER, SORRY. IF YOU PUT FORTH THAT MUCH EFFORT, AND THEY WON'T EVEN HOLD YOUR HAND, IT IS HIGH TIME THAT YOU MOVED ON AND FOUND SOMEONE WORTHY OF YOUR TIME

Public displays of affection seem to be a sensitive subject. There's nothing wrong in my opinion with loved ones greeting each other with a hug and a kiss, and holding hands is very sweet. If you're unsure take your cue from the people around you...You called this person your" lover", not your "friend", which implies deep feelings, so show this person who travelled a long way to see you some love! The world might be a kinder place if we showed our love more often.

Hello there!

What an interesting question.Naturally, every one wants to show an passion and affection with his lover. That's what lovers do. Now, I don't know your situation, but it is important to know, if you see that person for the first time, or you already met that lover. CZ if you haven't seen that lover and you see for the first time, than probably you should know better...and then naturally is shown the passion and affection.

But if this is the case you should be more open and talk why is this embarrassing.

You mention about going in other country..so what kind of culture do they have? You must have this in consideration.

And there are much more important things than holding hands...

Probably this is not the answer you were looking for, I'm truly sorry... but I just gave my opinion.

I wish you good luck, T.American...cuz you really deserve happiness.

I'd be estatic that they'd come all that way just for me.... so hell yeah I'd flaunt my hubby around I'd enjoy their company.I'd definitely hold his hand around town.

I wouldnt be embarassed at all the only reason why you'd be embarassed is if you never had feelings for them in the first place.

I think it would be best hold their hands and appreciate them for traveling 5000miles to see you. And to hell with what people think.
