Is it ok for a born again christian woman to let a man know that she is interested in dating him or is that against what the word of God says?

...I can't find anything in Scripture that it's a sin if you do.
...Personally, I might give some very subtle hints, but if I were you, I would let him take the lead, ask you out, and make him call you. Don't chase him.

Think about it. If you take it too literally, it would require you to hide. That's not what God wants. Jesus told us that the letter kills but that the Spirit gives life. Ask God, and listen to what He says to you in your heart about letting the one you are interested know you are interested in dating him.

Personally, in my opinion, if he doesn't know you are interested he migt not be able to "find" you. Also I believe that verse means that it is good for a man to take a wife (as oposed to living as a bachelor and even possibly sleeping around with prostitutes - remember the context of the verse was ancient Israel).

A wife is NOT a "thing"... not to be owned, possessed, or treated in any way from a selfish pov.

I would most certainly talk to your Pastor. He will give you the direction that you need.
