I am 13 years old and i am 5 4, and i weigh 127 lbs.

i am trying to stay at my weight or loose 7-10 lbs.

the other day, in my class, we were talking about healthy eating, and she asked this guy in my class, whi IS taller than me, what he weighed, as an example
he said he weighed only 110 lbs!!!!! that is less than me, and i was devistated.

and when i was preparing to take a shower, i looked down at my thights and my hips, and i saw little strech marks forming.

i have cut down portions of my food, and i have tried doing crunches, but i feel like im staying at the same weight.

PLEASE HELP!!!

(and they need to be free weight-loss ideas, please)

first of all, don't compare yourself to other people, because there will always be someone skinnier than you, and always someone heavier.

next, remember that it will take a lot of time but if you are patient then you will keep the weight off forever!

make sure to eat less sugars and fats, and drinking lots of water helps!

good luck! and btw, 127 pounds for your age and height, is pretty good!

You are only thirteen and your body will probably continue to grow a little more. You should not be obsessing about your weight. It sounds like you are at a healthy weight for your height. You need to eat balanced, nutritious meals. Check out the Food Guide Pyramid on the Internet to find out how much you need to eat from all the food groups. Make sure you have healthy amounts of protein, fruits and vegetables, dairy and whole grain cereals every day. Avoid junk food, which has empty calories, although do treat yourself do a dessert a couple times a week. If you want to maintain your weight, do some aerobic exercise, like jumping rope, going for walks or runs, especially with your dog, if you have one, ride a bicycle. But make it FUN, not work. Please don't do anything crazy like fasting, making yourself throw up, or using laxatives. You are still growing and your body needs nutrients.
As for the stretch marks, even thin people can have those. They are caused by gaining and then losing weight.

You are making a big deal out of it. Im fifteen and i weigh 110 pounds. Maybe you should just eat what you enjoy and get an hours excercise every day, eat healthy and don't worry about it! You are not overweight or anything and it won't have bad affects on your health!

What helped me to lose about that much weight is going vegetarian. Well I am not a complete vegetarian because I do eat fish every now and then but eating primarily vegetarian really helped me. I still get all of my nutrients and I stay at a weight I am comfortable with.

A lot of times we get stretch marks from a growth spurt, so dont think you are fat cause of that! As for the guy who is taller and weighs less...is he a super skinny guy? then who cares! Do you think you look good when you get all dressed and ready to go to school? Then who cares what the scale says! I say throw out the scale and if you really want to focus on health get your body fat tested. That is what makes people look fat or fit. NOT what the scale says...after all muscle weighs more than fat! To find out more info on body fat and such visit us at...http://www.womensdietandfitness.com

Walk it off. Get outside and play. Ride a bike in a safe area. Drink more water and continue to reduce your portions. Try this...eat off a smaller plate! It actually works: Much of our appetite is caused by visual cues. You can fool yourself visually into thinking your eating more than you actually are. Good luck girl.
