We got invited to this war.
Our invite came on 9/11.
Our goal is not let that happen again. So we took the fight over there rather than sitting around waiting for the next attack.

Yet we have a group here that will never be ready to face war and all its horrors. They want a nice neat package and that isn't war.
Muslim terrorists know that about us. Make a little ugly and Americans leave.

If this nation doesn't get its collective head in the game to take off the leash we have put on our military we can expect more of this.

That is facts of this war against Muslim terrorism. Now we have people in Congress wanting to run away.

Name me 1 problem that has been sloved by running away from it.

If we don't fight the war on terrorism overseas, we'll end up fighting it on US soil. Our young people VOLUNTEER to join the military... it is what they want.. and they KNOW they might get sent to war when they enlist.

Politically, war is a great way to sway votes. Those who can be made to fear terrorism more will vote more conservatively... those who buy in to the theory that we can just talk a murdering tyrant out of behavior he's demonstrated for 40 years? They vote democrat.

Most wars in which United Statesians have been involved have not been to save United Statesian lives at all. By far the vast majority of United Statesian wars have been in the name of 'National Interests' that is to say our economical viability. If a leader/nation somewhere appears to present a threat to our economic viability we will do whatever it takes to ensure our economic standing in the world is not jeopardized, that includes going to war. This has always been the case.

Not entirely sure what you are trying to say, but I am guessing you are questioning why the Allied forces are in Iraq, Afghanistan etc.

The reason we go to these countries is because we are asked to. Not you and me personally, believe it or not, some things are best unknown by us.

Without defending the people who are unable to defend themselves, we would be no better than these Dictators who mass murder their own citizens in the name of claiming power.

It is good when the reason they are going to war is a good one. But as for the last war, well actually the ongoing war, I pity them because it is not for a good reason.

Well, if they are going to the Iraq war they are fighting for nothing. The Iraq war is not legal.

War is seldom a welcomed event but when your country is threatened, it becomes the answer and we have to accept and endure.
