I do not think your puppy is trying to hurt you. He is just trying to play with you. I have a puppy. She bites me everyday! But she always does it with a playful growl....so............don't worry. I repeat that he is trying to play with you. Maybe you should buy him a chew toy or a bag of treats. You can also train him to not bite. Or you can lightly use something that's not to hard or soft to hit him, remember lightly, and then say no in a very angry way. It should be better than obedience school. You don't have to pay. If this doesn't work, than get one of those dog training books. But somehow you will think of a way. My puppy still bites me, and when she does I lock her in the garage for maybe 5 to 10 minutes. It usually calms her down. You can also get a cage. What kind of dog is your pup? If he is a big breed get a larger cage. I think you will figure out what to do if it is a smaller breed. Good luck! Hope I helped!
PS Don't you love dogs and puppies? I'm like a big fan of them. In a celebrity way. LOL. If you have anymore questions, e-mail me. Though I am pretty sure I can't answer everything.

First off,you are so lucky you have a puppy,i would love to have a puppy, and this makes you sound so ungrateful! And not all pups are mean-sounds like you may have the wrong puppy for your and your family's needs!
Well, what type of puppy is it?It needs some training and exercise,Also this is normal puppy play, this is how he would treat his brothers and sisters! You being the mom need to tell him NO-heart breaking but true-Any pup will do this, its part of being a puppy owner! The puppy may also be naturally aggressive or you may not have the right materials for him!Did you do any research on his breed type?An Aussie Will try to herd-as Will a border collie, labs need exercise and plenty of luv!He is also probably teething and needs chew toys, bones and cold items for his poor Little mouth! The growling is not a good thing, you need to teach him U are boss, and that's THAT!A mother dog would never allow such behavior and neither should you! Some training and discipline should work the kinks out there!I hope this helps-and i do not mean to sound rude anywhere! If you have any Q e-mail me and ill try and help the best i can!check out these sites :

lol, he's not mean, puppies like to bit and chew on everything, they just need to be taught what is OK to bite and chew (thier toys) and what is not (your belongings, you).

You have to show a strong reaction when they bite. Puppies learn not to bite hard by playing and they know they have hurt a fellow puppy if they yelp.

When he nips, let out a yelp or a sharp cry, to let him know that people are wimps and don't like to be bitten at all - even when playing. He will learn, don't worry.

Puppies are NOT mean in the slightest, he is teething and wants to play, give him some toys to chew on and heaps of playtime with him. When he bites say a deep NO or if this dosnt work blow on his face. This is only playing but you need to control it also, if he goes to bite you shove a toy into his mouth.

puppies should not be mean, they will nip because they want to play. get him TONS of different chew toys. When puppies are teething they will get bored with thier current chew toys and start finding new stuff, like your pillows, table legs, etc. the growling is what they do when they play like tug of war. if he is just sitting and growling at you I was discipline him right away, you don't want him growing up with that behavior. good luck.

You new puppy is probably still adjusting to your home. i'm sure you puppy is kind of insicure. maybe you should give him a toy. also when he starts biting you distract him with a toy (not a treat) and sternly tell him NO and then throw the toy in a different direction.

Most likely your puppy does not mean to hurt you, but is actually just playing. It is imprtant to make sure he knows it is wrong to bite you. To do this, whenever he nips you say "No" firmly and hand him a chew toy.

Puppies are not mean, they are just babies. They like to play and chew on things. Get a few toys at your local pet store and remember you are still new to him. He just got a new home and mommy! Be patient-he'll grow out of this stage!!!

lol It sounds like he's just playing. Like children, puppies usually learn my interacting with others and their environment. I'm sure there is a way you could train the puppy to be nicer, though.
