You have to have an account with a bank if you want to deposit money. Where were you planning to deposit it? Go to the bank where you have your account. Were you planning to deposit it in someone else's account? The question is a little fishy...but you can only"deposit" the money into your bank account and that is the only bank you should go to.

Unless you have an account at the bank that owns the ATM, you generally CAN'T make a deposit at the ATM. Most banks will not give cash based on an ATM deposit until the deposit clears. They have no way to know there is actually a check in the envelope. I've actually know of customers that tried to 'deposit' checks at the ATM but instead of placing then in the deposit slot, they put the envelope in the mail. It took the Post Office nearly a month to decide what to do with it.

To deposit a check in an ATM, you have to have an account with that bank. Even then, when you deposit through the ATM, you would have two separate transactions, so you would have to have money in your account before you could get cash. If you take the check in to the teller at your bank, you can deposit part of the check and get some cash back, assuming you are not overdrawn.

None, unless you have money in that bank. And, the check is not considered to be "money" until it clears.
