What I use is a Cetaphil Gentle Face Wash (Approximately $9 dolalrs) every morning and night.

Its important to wash your face with "normal" temperature water; using water that is too cold or too hot will irritate your skin and cause it to break out.

Hydration is very important as well; drink lots of water when you can. Stay away from foods with high sodium because they can cause dehydration in the skin which causes flaking, peeling, and inflamation. Drinking water will flush away any toxic things in your body.

Use lotion with SPF to protect against sun damage; but also use lotion that doesn't clog pores. Its important to keep your skin moist so it can repair itself faster.

There isn't really any reason that you should stay away from foods that you love. However, if it is a type of food that seems to make you break out; eat it occasionally and not all the time. Eating chocolate and oily foods is only a myth; but they can be foods that cause acne for SOME people. However, drinks like soda will cause acne.

Load yourself with fruits and veggies so it replenishes your skin with vitamins and minerals that your skin needs. Also, it will clean out your system as well; leaving you with purified skin.

It is also essential to having a good routine established. Eating right and sleeping right will help you maintain better skin longer.

Good luck. =]

You don't have to follow all of these, but the more you do, the better your skin will look:

* Don't pop your pimples
* Wash your face with cold water every morning
* Use a cleanser on your face once a day, and use a moisturizer right afterwards
* Use a moisturizer in the morning and in the evening (make sure that the moisturizer you use is not marked as a morning mosturizer, since those contain sunscreen. It's unhealthy to sleep with sunscreen on.)
* Apply sunscreen before going out in daylight (easier said than done!)
* Stay out of the sun as much as you can (tans look nice, but the sun damages your skin by drying out the think layer of fat underneath. Fat sounds like something you want to get rid of, but this kind of fat prevents wrinkles by keeping your skin nice and moist. Once the sun dries it up, you can't replace the fat and you get a lot of wrinkles.)
* Apply make-up and moisturizer with disposable make-up sponges, not your hands. Make-up can also be applied with a brush... but never use your hands!
* Take off make-up as soon as you come home by using a cleaner, and follow up with a moisturizer.
* Drink at least one large (gatorade-sized) bottle of water a day.
* Do not drink soda. Just cut it out of your diet.

Firstly recognize why you get pimples and make changes to your lifestyle

Make sure you:
Clean face regularly, especially before bed
Drink 8 glasses water a day
Reduce chocolate and fats intake
Reduce lollies and sugar intake

A good recipe for a face cleanser is
Egg whites, fresh mint, spoon lemon juice, powdered oatmeal.
Mix all ingredients together and apply for 20 mins twice a week!
Good Luck

Drink 6-8 glasses water per day. Don't wear make-up when you don't have two, eat fruit and vegies, stay out of the sun and follow a skin program that's right for your skin. It can take awhile to find the right products, but when you do. It's worth it.
