Cavalier, the cocker will get along good with that breed too.
What color cocker do you have? Heard it on Westminster Dog show it sounded funny.

You are absolutely correct!
Both breeds / pups are lovable and adorable!
I know that the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel breed has a very noble background - much more so than the lowly "Beagle" despite the fact that this little dog is one of the most famous American Hunting dogs - especially of Rabbits and can be taught to "point" pheasant, quail, and grouse!
But the fact remains that Spaniels have been bred for smaller and smaller dogs - which has actually resulted in a fantastic amount of "Distemper" amongst and though out the breed! -
The Lowly Beagle does not have this problem since it started off small and close to the ground. LOL!
If it were me - and I love dogs (before I went to The Ohio State University to become a Veterinarian I actually had 16 different dogs because we lived on the last block of the city and while I do not have any dogs at this time due to where I live and being retired, I still consider myself quite a dog fancier) I would have go go with the Beagle - he will give you 150% of his love, companionship, loyalty and loads of fun and excitement should you decide to take him/her into the fields to see how it would handle the wild game that it finds there!
No insult meant to the other pup!

Choose the pup that you like because you have to make decisions for yourself and you will say "What a good choice I made and I love this dog."
