A crockpot is a pot that you plug in and cooks things very slowly, but there is minimal work- you just put in ingredients in and then turn the crockpot on to cook. Usually cooking time is 6-8 hours.

A crockpot is a ceramic free-standing pot for cooking meals really slowly. You place the food in the crockpot in the morning, turn it on, and when you finish work for the day, the food will be done. Good for making a wonderful stew in winter! Mmmmm yum!

It's a slow cooker like Christine said. Depending on the meal it can take anywhere between 4-8 hours. I was also told that the meals are supposed to be more tasty because the meals are cooked so slow.

It is a way to cook foods slow so that you can go out or just make a one pot dish. It varies by what you cook in it. I find that the slow cooking brings out the best in the flavor and tenderness in meats.It's great for creating new dihes. I love mine.
