How and when do "baby blonds" turn brown?

Question

Most people how are born blond turn brown later in life. If this has happened to you, about what age did it happen? And was it a fast process, or did it gradually get darker?

it depends , I was born blonde and looking back at my pitures I can see my hair get a dirty blonde at about 3-4 yrs old and then by 6 it was light brown. my oldest daughters hair started turning when she was 10- she is 14 now and her hair is dirty blonde- much lighter than mine but still darker than when she was a baby- her change seemed more gradual than mine. My youngest has hair lighter than mine but darker than her sisters- hers changed at around 5 and it seemed pretty sudden. My lucky brother was born with blond hair and he kept it- it is slightly darker than when he was a baby but his is still blonde! whaa!!!

my two little girls were born blond and now, at 7 and 9 they have a brownish-blond mix that gets lighter in the summer and darker in the winter. It is a gradual thing that happens as kids get older. It is not really noticeable day to day, but when you compare photos shot just 6 months apart, sometimes it is very apparent.

I was born blonde and my hair gradually got darker as I grew. When I was in about fourth grade I was a dirty blonde. When I got to sixth or seventh grade my hair was brown.

My husband was born blond (really almost a white-blond). Now in his 50s, his hair (what's left of it!) is a dirty-blond.

My 15 1/2 yr. old daughter was born w/auburn hair but after skull surgery and having her head partially shaved, it grew back in blonde! Now it's darkening to a light-brownish with some areas still blonde.

I think it just depends.

when i was born i had super light blond hair, but ever since then its been getting darker at a slow but steady pace. i am now 13 and have sort of dirty blonde to light brown hair.
