Ok so we have a 3 month old Golden Reteiver (can't spell). He's a boy and it took us some days to name him. Everybody came up with the name Piper for him, but not me. What do you think?? I think its to girly...but thats his name. Wa u think?
o n i also wanted to know if anybody could give me some nicknames for him cause i prefer a nicname than his real name.

That isn't a bad name at all, rather creative actually, but if your looking for some more "manly" nicknames you could call him Pipes (like muscles), Pip, etc. Most dogs will respond to lots of different names, I actually have Golden Retriever and I call him all sorts of names like Stupido, Fat Boy, Buddy, and other joke names like that. He will come when you call him any of these. Be creative and I'm sure your dog will like whatever name you call him.

Yes thats a girl name. Like Piper Perabo from the movie "coyote ugly". And one of the girls from charmed. Use that for ammo against that name !

i have a friend who's daughter is named piper.. so it seems girly to me too... how about just nicknaming him Pip?

I say you can call your dog whatever you want.
My cat's name is Apollo (named by my bro and his ex-girlfriend) but we call him Tooters or Chubba or Chubba-Bubba.
Watch your dog's personality develop, and the name will come to you.
