You always complain about how bad the world is because of religion, how annoying the Christians are, how "ignorant" everyone besides you is, etc etc. You have nothing to live for in this life so why the heck do you not commit suicide? You don't have any reason to live a good life because you don't believe in consequences so... what's the point?

And did you know that the ancient Greeks discovered that the solution to all the world's problems would be for everyone to commit suicide?

And please don't say something stupid like "kicks."

Thanks ahead of time and God bless you. (and I seriously am not trying to offend you or get you mad.)

G.B.

You have nothing to live for in this life so why the heck do you not commit suicide?

- I'm in college right now. I'm not here for NOTHING. I want to be a Cultural Anthropologist, Graphologist, English professor (focusing on grammar), professional singer (American Idol anyone?), a mother and a wife... I want to die as an old lady. Not now at the tender age of 19.

You don't have any reason to live a good life because you don't believe in consequences

- How in the WORLD did you come up with that lame conclusion? Atheists simply don't believe in a god - what's that have to do with consequences?

And did you know that the ancient Greeks discovered that the solution to all the world's problems would be for everyone to commit suicide?

- The world WOULD be a lot healthier if humans ceased to exist. But you don't see any humans jumping at the chance to do that now do you?

You are offending me when you say "God bless". That shows you do not repect me as an atheist. You should be ashamed of yourself. I never say "God not bless you".

The world IS bad because of theistic religion. But that will probably be fixed in the future. There are far more atheists now than there were in the past. Eventually, the whole world should be rid of theism and its irrational and dangerous ways.

How dare you! I don't get offended very often, but you have definitely offended me here. I have a lot to live for. I have a family that loves me and I believe that I can make a difference in this world...WITHOUT a god. You better thank your lucky stars for some of the things that atheists have accomplished. I do a lot of good for others and consider myself to be a very good person. From what you have said, I get the impression that you don't think that your family would be a good enough reason to live if you found out that God did not exist. It's so sad that people think that they need a god to have meaning in life. That is what scares me about religion!!

I don't believe all christians are "ignorant", i don't complain about how bad the world is, I have plenty to live a good life for, I am a mother, I have to live a good life for the sake of my children. I am not a bad person, I don't smoke, drink, do drugs, I am happily married for 16 years, I have two beautiful children, I don't break any laws, I just don't believe in the existence of a higher power, if I commit suicide, how do you think that would affect my kids?
I hate to say this but your question is "ignorant" you have made all atheists monsters, and we're not, I love life!

Who values a sandwich more? The rich man who feasts on filet mignon and lobster every night, or the anonymous starving child who shows up in those commercials at 2:00am?

By the same token, wouldn't you predict that an atheist, who believes he has maybe an 80 year window to exist, would treasure life more than a Christian who not only believes he has eternity but believes that the part after life will be spent in paradise? Why would that Christian want to continue on Earth when he could be in heaven? I know suicide would cast you out of heaven, but I also know that Christians get vaccinated, often avoid unsafe neighborhoods if possible, and slow down around sharp curves.

I have every reason in the world to live. This is my ONE CHANCE. I don't get a do-over, so I have to make this one count. I'm going to spend this one life I have to make the world better for the other creatures on the planet. I do have reason to live a good life--because it is the right thing to do, and not because of some ludicrous carrot-and-stick philosophy designed to keep me in line.

Also, *I* don't call people ignorant or "always complain" about religion and Christians. I also don't encourage others to commit suicide--if that is your version of godlike love and morality, I'll keep my secularism any day of the week.

I never complain about how bad the world is because of religion. Yes, the Christians can be very annoying. Many, many people are smarter than me. I live for myself, my husband, my children, my parents, my grandchildren. I live a good life because it's the right thing to do and not because I'm afraid of the consequences if I don't. And mostly I bother living just to piss your kind off!

Wow, where do I start... I don't complain about anything or anyone. I think you have it backwards you seem to be the one who is judgemental not the atheists. I have everything to live for, you see Christians live their life wondering how it will effect their afterlife we live for now. And as for us not living a good life because there are no consequences, it is the opposite I believe it is better to be good because it is the right thing to do not because if I don't I will go to hell. You need to worry about your own life a bit more and leave everyone Else's beliefs or non beliefs alone!

God bless you too.

Reality check? Atheists won't know Christ if they commit suicide because someone who loves Jesus told them too. To reach these people you need to have more of an open mind and stop being so hypocritical. Oh and by the way on a day to day basis everyone sins the same amount ALOT.
The only difference is some sinners have chosen to put aside their pride and know God and others have spent their life looking for hope without surrnedering themselves. I believe atheists should commit suicide, a SPIRITUAL suicide.

Because life is wonderful. Regardless of it's origin. As a human how can I be so arrogant to think that if there is a god that I understand what his plan is.

When it comes to repect for others as given in the 10 commandments or the way Jesus taught we should treat others I can believe in this without believing in the superstition that goes with it

Christians ARE annoying.

Other than that where did "nothing to live for" come from?
People have nothing to live for if they don't believe in God? Isn't that a really absurd idea?

As for consequences, there are many. Some good, some bad. Does a consequence really have to be eternal to grab your attention?
