How do they know he was so disappointed in the person's looks? Did he leave a note saying (in Mandarin) "Good-bye world. I couldn't take that ugly face no mo, yo'. I mean, whoa! Hold on... dry heaves".

If this really occured (I haven't seen the story), that boy had much more serious issues than an unattractive blind date. I wonder why the media is trying to play that angle, or if he left a note saying that was why? Anyone with any sense would know that even if that did send him over the edge, it wasn't the reason he committed suicide.

I think it was more than just looks.

People sometimes get close in Netland. They lose perspective, which is something 17 year olds don't have a lot of anyway.

They make their net-pal a significant part of their daily life and emotional support system.

See, you look at that and think "his blind date was ugly."

I look at that and think that HE thought: "oh my God, the person I loved isn't REAL..." and his whole world shifted off its axis. It was just as real a loss to him as if one of us lost a steady significant other...and I mean, lost to death, irretrievable.

If he had some close friends they could have dragged him off to get over it with a few lapdances and a drink or two...but evidently he made this choice too quickly for anyone to intervene.

That boy replace into an emotional smash way in the previous he ever met that "youthful" female. besides the fact that he concept approximately her in the previous he met her, he could have had intense hopes of wanting something from this assembly. think of roughly it. His existence could have been that undesirable and that lots of a waste-to him-that he concept assembly this female over the internet replace into going to sparkling up each and every thing. He replace into already suicidal. it is in basic terms unhappy.

That is the saddest and most, well, idiotic thing I've heard in a while! Poor kid, probably had a shitty life anyways. People shouldn't try and find love on the computer anyway.

This is what happens when everyone in China wants to have a son - too many sons, too few daughters.
