TNT (unfortunately) will still broadcast 6 races this year. Only NBC is out. Ratings also dropped quite a bit when they were broadcasting. Part of it was about football season starting, but also, more people were recording the race rather than watch because they did not like the coverage, or the analysts. There was alot of complaining by the fans to Nascar, and maybe thats why NBC's contract was not renewed. I know most people think NASCAR has stopped caring what the fans think, but there was discussion in the media about this very thing last year when ratings took a big drop.

The contract expired, NBC is out, TNT airs 6 races during the summer.
Sorry guys, but I'm not sure if ABC/ESPN will really do much better. So far, their Busch Series coverage is not too good. In the Busch California race, they started saying that caution was out right when they were about to head to commercial break, but then they make us sit through the commercials before we get to find out what happened, which is just stupid. But it's not the announcers fault, they got cut off by the commercials
I still have faith in ABC/ESPN, but they haven't met my expectations yet.

TNT will be boardcasting 6 races starting with Pocono and ending at Chicago. With the move to ESPN/ABC the races are going to get promoted a lot more than on NBC during their last season!

TNT will broadcast with Wally Dallenbach and Bill Weber, so you're not going to escape them :-(. I think that ABC/ESPN is going to do an excellent job, that's why I like their coverage of IRL and NHRA, they're fair and they don't focus on one particular driver. TNT gets 6 races, in my opinion...it's 6 too many. ABC is respected in motorsports, and in my opinion a lot more credible than NBC. Let NBC have the football like it used to.

Because NBC sucks! I'm glad that ABC will be finishing out the season. I think they will do a great job. Maybe we can get away from commercials during cautions and pit stops. TNT will do a few races mid-season...can't wait till that's over. I don't even know what channel that is on my sat!

you and worldruler are both wrong. TNT will show six races in the middle of the season before ESPN/ABC take over, NBC is out of NASCAR

Because they only had a 7 year contract and it was up in November of last year and decided not to resign their contract. ABC/ESPN used to do it and they wanted it back so that is why we now have them instead of NBC/TNT

Commercials. The best invention that Nascar has come up with so far, is the new TrackPass on DirecTV. You can still watch the race and the commercial is in one little corner. If it wasn't for TackPass we would have missed two wrecks at Daytona. It's well worth the money.

Since everyone neglected to actually look up the answer here it is http://www.nascar.com/races/cup/2007/data/schedule.html
As you can see we have to be on our toes if we expect to watch all the races since they are going on all kinds of different channels.

As far as the commercials, it does not matter who does the races we are always going to have commercials every 7 minutes... My question is what happened to the idea of "Breaking in" when there is a caution? Does it piss anyone else off when they come back from commercials and they say "We are under caution now."

I purchased the raceview from the nascar website this year so when they go to commercial I know exactly whats happening!
