I love the fact theat the wellbutrin has no side affects, but I've been on it for 4 years now and I don't think it's working anymore. I tried effexor first and it helped but I had terrible side affects, and withdrawl symptoms when I switched to wellbutrin. Now the depression is back, but I am also having anxiety again too. Can anyone reccomend anything that helps with anxiety and depression but doesn't have too many side affects or withdrawls if you forget to take it? I'm pretty sensitive to meds. I took one pill of zoloft that my dr wanted me to try and I felt flu like symptoms, jaw clenching, I was restless, couldn't sleep, and I even felt like I was on speed or something. I'm NOT going to take another, I didn't like it at all. I need to find something that will help me but I'm scared to try different ones because I don't want to feel bad. Help, please.. thanks.

I think most medication for anxiety and depression have side affects to them. I would keep checking with your doctor,he/she will find what you can tolerate.I would take a look at your diet and see if you are eating to much sugar it can cause depression.Try to eat a little healthier, I need to do that myself! I have anxiety trouble so I know what you mean about that, I have been doing a little check on diet and my life style Good Luck!

Hi, I can certainly feel your pain. I have been living with severe anxiety disorder for 16 years now. I have tried sooo many meds. Effexor was horrible for me. I felt like I was dying for the few days I took it. As for the Wellbutrin.. it is not at all uncommon for a persons body to build up an "immunity" to a med after you have taken it for a long time. Have you talked to your doctor about increasing your dosage, or would you really just prefer to change meds?
I took Zoloft for over 5 years and it stopped helping me. Now I take only Xanax, and muscle relaxers. The Xanax is great. I take it when I feel an attack coming on. It will stop an anxiety attack in a matter of about 5 minutes. I love it. There are no side effects and withdrawals if you dont take it. I really recommend talking to your doctor about it. I only take .25 mgs
If you ever want to talk fell free to email me through here and I will give you my email address and or messenger ID. I know several good websites about anxiety and I am a memeber of a great online live chat support group that it open 24 hours a day. It is only for people with anxiety disorder.
Good luck to you.

Today, many years later, and after suffering through one failing cure or another, for me it was found that I suffer from a low serotonin level in my brain, and the episodes with alcohol affect this situation in a huge way. The chemicals in my brain are not like the majority of my friends, so they could no easier understand how I was feeling as I could understand there freedom from it. It was only as the years went on, even after I stopped drinking alcohol, that the anxiety began to happen all the time. I guess the hormone levels just kept getting lower and lower. Eventually I felt this terrible anxiety all the time. Fortunately for me, I found a mental health doctor that understood what was happening, and diagnosed me with something called 'Social Anxiety Disorder'. He put me on a drug called Paroxetine, or commonly known as Paxil, and I have been able to live again. It gave me back a chance to live my life again, but what a night mere I went through.
Just know that you can break this anxiety, but sometimes you need alittle help.

Wellbutrin is not for anxiety at all, In fact is sucks. You need xanax. That will stop it right in its tracks.

Have you ever tried herbal supplements. They don't usually have side effects and work very well. You may want to ask your doctor.
