If you have a 2300 sq foot home, 3 bedroom. And you want to paint 2 of the bedrooms and the living room. Without me giving the square footage does anyone know how MUCH it will be? By using a calculater on the home depot site they estimated I need about 2 gallons a room (plus primer). But they will not allow me to see the pricing on the paint! lol. ***Basically I already understand that I will be needing about 7 gallons of paint and primer, probably gonna go with a semi-gloss, latex, any idea on how much it's going to run me?

One paint gallon covers 400 square feet, one coat, which in a normal sized room usually covers 2 walls, 2 coats. You can calculate how many gallons for each room you'll need to do it right.

As for paint cost, it all depends on what company you choose. If you use a brand paint company, you're looking at between 26$-36$ per gallon.

Did you know that many large surface areas have a "generic" brand paint? It's usually made by sico... and it's decent quality. Boomerang is recycled paint that comes in quite a few colors, is envrio friendly and is MUCH less expensive than normal brands.

If you buy your paint and your primer in 5 gallon buckets, it'll cost you less, too. You can have it tinted, no problem.

Semi-gloss is really outrated! You would be much better going with a satin gloss or eggshell finish. If you use semi-gloss, it'll show the defects up a lot more than the other 2 finishes I mentioned. And nowadays, you can get washable eggshell and satin finish.

Do you know what kind of paint is already on the walls? If you don't or the walls are already painted with oil paint, you'll need to use an oil-based primer. If the paint there is oil-based, your latex primer and paint won't go on properly and will eventually peel off. But nowadays, it's easy to paint with oil based primer as it doesn't smell as much and has a drying time of only 2 hours.

Keep in mind when you paint that if you're using the following colors: red, yellow or purple paint, you will likely need to paint 3 and sometimes 4 coats.. unless there is white in that color.

Happy painting!

Any where from 23.00 to 29.00 a gallon - that was what I paid in the summer. Also do not forget to figure in the cost of rollers, brushes, painters tape and drop clothes. It does not pay to cheap out on the brushes and rollers. You really end up putting on a second coat. Make sure you have your primer tinted to about the same color as the paint to make you need less coats. I have a 24 sq foot house and I painted the kids rooms - I used one gallon per room and one gallon of primer. I also did the trim and the closets a different color. Hope that helps.

Depending uopn the brand and quality of the paint you select the price per gallon will run between 15.00 to 20.00 a gallon. That's $105-$140. The primer will run in the same range and figure $20.00 to $40.00 dollars for supplies i.e. brushes, rollers, handles, tape, dropcloths, etc. So you can figure between $150-$200 dollars to paint the rooms.

Jock, the painter, many times would skinny his paint so it would circulate extra. So whilst the Church desperate to accomplish a little deferred upkeep, Jock replaced into able to put in the low bid, and have been given the activity. As constantly, he thinned his paint way down with turpentine. sooner or later on a similar time as he replaced into up on the scaffolding -- the activity basically approximately finished -- he heard a horrendous clap of thunder, and the sky opened. The downpour washed the thinned paint off the church and knocked Jock off his scaffold and onto the backyard between the gravestones and puddles of thinned and valueless paint. Jock knew this replaced right into a warning from the Almighty, so he have been given on his knees and cried: “Oh, God! Forgive me! What could I do?” And from the thunder, a effective voice: “REPAINT! REPAINT! and skinny not extra!” gatita Apostolic Believer in one God, Jesus
