They work very well. Use them all at once though. Don't save a few and then use them in a couple months. You should only whiten your teeth once a year. Otherwise it could strip the enamel off your teeth and that is not pretty. They could also become very sensitive if you whiten them more than once a year

They work best on straight, young teeth. But I have seen some really good results on older people too! I would get the best ones you can (usually the more expensive) because they will usually have a higher concentration of the hydrogen peroxide, which does the whitening. If your teeth are yellow tinted, they work best, if your teeth have a grayish tint then it will be harder to lighten them.
You do want to use then consistently, everyday like the directions say, to get the best results. And your teeth should be free of tartar and plaque, so it is best to get a professional cleaning prior to starting. Be aware that any fillings or crowns, any unnatural tooth structure, will NOT whiten, so if your have any fillings on your front teeth, be prepared to replace them after whitening.

They work well for some people, depends on what color your
teeth are to start with. If they are very dark, they won't work
as well, or if you have tetracycline stain from antibiotics, it
doesn't work on that. If you use them as directed, they can
work really well, just don't set your expectations too high. Be
realistic. They also work best if you get your teeth cleaned at
the dentist first, to remove any tartar or stains that may be on the
surface of your teeth.

Yes, they work really well. Use them every six months after your cleaning and dental checkup. And use the professional strength that you can purchase at your dental office. Those are 8 times stronger than what can be purchased in the store.
