It is because no on developed the Hindi culture. British oppressed it and US marketed theirs. No on believed in enriching Hindi culture with arts, music, traditions, etc. No one revised it either. A culture need to be nourished just as a plant does. We looked for something better instead of improving our own.

There is no such thing as Hindi culture. In fact there is no culture called the Indian culture. The collective Indian culture is a cross product of individual regional cultures like Gujrati, Punjabi, Bengali, Andhra, Kannada, Kerala, TN, maharashritian etc. and whatever is common across these cultures is on account of the prevalence of Hindu customs. So the broadest demarcation is along religious lines, followed by sub-cultures within the broad Hindu culture. American culture is basically Memorial day, Independence day, Labor day, open air barbeques, fireworks, and stupid games like pro-football and baseball and Academy awards.

I have personally travelled to a few places in Europe and America, but in the USA, I found that the average people do not even say Hello to you (and give you the kind of looks that you are some uneducated dimwit) if you are found wearing Indian clothes. The security may even check your personal belongings!! May be it is a survival strategy to wear western clothes, adopt their language, their accent in order to exist in that country.

Under the influence of Western culture, they believe that the way of the West is the only way to live and they reject their culture of origin. This is due to the strong maketing power of the West, whose decadence appeals to the lowest instincts of the people.
