What I always do is mix the evaporated milk equally with water.But for icing , I would use a little more of the milk for a thicker texture. Good luck. Sounds yummy.

Evap milk is thicker than reg milk but some recipes call for it anyway. If it's too thick, use a bit more.

No. Evaporated milk has a different chemistry than plain milk. It probably would not hold & you'd have a drippy mess.

yes, that would be an appropriate substitute. I never cook with regular milk. I like the flavor of (Pet) canned milk.

Yes...if you are nervous about it you can thin it with water ....
