The only way to completely get out of paying student loads with no strings attached is to die. You can't get rid of student loans through bankruptcy. If you can teach, you could apply for a program like the government's website for their teacher forgiveness program. http://studentaid.ed.gov/PORTALSWebApp/students/english/cancelstaff.jsp?tab=repaying If you teach in a low income area for 5 years, they'll forgive 3-5 thousand dollars of your loan. Other than that, I would suggest consolidation and paying it off.

If you are looking to get out of paying your loan these is a way. There are government forgiveness programs out there that will forgive a portion or all of your loan if you do something for the country such as participate in Teach For America. Here you would have to commit 3-5 years of teaching at a school that is considered at risk. Its a great way to help out students who can't afford what most suburban students can and have some or all of your debt forgiven at the same time. There are other programs out there that deal with debt forgiveness. The best way to find out what these programs are is to talk to someone at a university's financial aid office.

I suggest you call the lending agency and get on a payment plan. They loaned you the money in good faith that you would repay. Hopefully, you borrowed in good faith as well. If you have had difficult circumstances explain that to them (although that should have been done a while ago). I also suggest you get started right away the interest is piling up and by now you owe three times what you borrowed. Plus if you have been negligent about it then your credit rating and score is being affected negatively.

There are few ways to rid yourself of a student loan. You really should contact your lender to set up payment plans, as this is probably negatively impacting your credit rating. You could try to find out about teach for america, but most likely you are notgoing to be able to write off your loan this way.

Pay it off. It is pretty simple. You might have to forget some of your extra expenses, like buying new clothes, new CD's, going out to eat, etc. to be able to pay it off.
