It is normal to have some pain while you are still healing. It is not a dry socket if you are able to control the pain with Advil. A dry socket is usually extreme pain and doesn't respond to pain medicine. The smell will go away as it heals. It sounds like you are doing everything just right.

THIS IS NOT A DRY SOCKET, JUST NORMAL HEALING. IT WERE DRY SOCKET THE PAIN WOULD BE VERY BAD AND THE 'HOLE' WOULDN'T BE CLOSING. KEEP DOING WHAT YOU ARE AND DON'T EAT FOODS THAT WILL GET STUCK IN THE HEALING SITE.
