I have 2 dogs, 2 cats, a rabbit, at least 1 bird but could be more and at least 1 fish buried in my yard. When our last dog had to be put down we got him cremated though. We have had a lot of pets and we still have quite a few.

Most states have laws regarding burial of your beloved pets, but they are not enforced. My maltese got killed a few years ago and my husband immediately called the vet hospital to ask the same question. If you take the pet there to have them dispose of the poor thing (for lack of better explanation) they take them to the dump...PERIOD!! You can bury them in the back yard, but make sure you have a small casket or crate to put them in, and also make sure you are burying them deep enough that other animals are not able to dig up the area. My husband was so brave during this time and made a small casket and my little baby maltese was buried at her favorite spot at the back of the lawn.

I think it's alright to bury a dog in your backyard. It depends on the state though, so you may want to google it.

I provide my dogs their own special burial on my own property. my dogs were born on this farm and they will be buried here also. I don't really think it's OK for people to make up crap rules that tell you that you can't bury your pets on your own property. it's not their place to say.

it depends on the laws in your city. if you or your parents own your house just do it and don't ask or tell the city. how will they know otherwise? then you will have your beloved pet near you. if this is not possible, do you have a relative who owns their house in the country? try asking them if they will let you bury your friend there. good luck and i am so sorry you lost your pet.

You need to contact your local municipal center. Not every city has the same ordinances.
