If the external baptizing in water is a depiction of what happened to you internally. And it did not happen to you internally. How would you realize what you were. It didn't happen to you.
If the Baptism of the Holy Spirit did not happen, and you were not sealed with God's Holy Spirit. All you would have is a dunking in water.

Very few realize who they are. Very few understand what they can do.
It has to do with growth.
Most stay in the sand box. It is comfortable there. And perhaps they don't want to grow. Growth is very important and we do not grow ourselves.
As is written:
Heb 6:1 Therefore leaving the elementary teaching about the Christ, let us press on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God,
Heb 6:2 of instruction about washings, and laying on of hands, and the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.
Heb 6:3 And this we shall do, if God permits.
OLAY!

I was baptised as a baby. But I'm no longer Catholic, so I suppose in light of this it would no longer apply to me. However, I do believe Jesus was divine. At the same time, I also believe all people are divine because we all come from the same source as the gods themselves. I'm also of the belief that it's in this world where we can do the most good. I look at the next world (if that's what we want to call it) as going back to the source of all that is and the universal consciousness.

They don't look hard enough to see the real world. Faith takes us beyond this realm many times, but yes, it has to be exercised.
If we are part of the body we will join ourselves to the body; or not, is usually the problem. It used to commonly be referred to as "fire insurance" just enough not to burn.

You are correct: "Christian" is defined as "baptized person." Being Christian is not based on what one believes or does. "When the goodness and lovingkindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us. Not because of any works of righteousness that we had done, but according to his mercy THROUGH THE WATER OF REBIRTH AND RENEWAL BY THE HOLY SPIRIT." (Titus 3:4,5)

not all people are really what they say they are. i like to call them "christians", plus people make mistakes. also some christians have the fear of men and aren't bold or know enough about here faith to make a difference.

Ugh. In that case, how do I go about un-baptising myself? If that's true, I'm pretty pissed that my parents didn't ask me what I thought of it at the time.

Gees, thanks, I never looked at it that way. Is that why we forever feel that we help everyone else but no one helps us, when all along, Jesus is rooting for us? I hope.
