Splenda (Yellow Stuff) is actually sugar with split molecules to make it calorie free. Sweet and Low (Pink Stuff) is saccharine and was to be banned as it is extremely bad for you. It got approval for Diabetic use only and original approval was (only) until something else could take it's place. When Equal (Blue Stuff) came out, they tried to remove Sweet and Low from the market but diabetics and fat women drinking diet drinks claimed they could not stand the taste of Equal. Nothing ever happened to Sweet and Low - but it is dangerous and causes more harm than any good. Stay away from it. Equal is now the most popular but was to be phased out with the invention of something else too. Splenda was too too expensive (read Greed and not actual cost) when it came out and it is still costly. That is why they let them keep the blue stuff. The blue stuff is also not good for you but is not dangerous to you like the Pink Stuff.

The moral here is to use only splenda and products using splenda. But remember - artificial sweetener is the Number One (1) cause of obesity in this country. It causes the brain to react and crave compound sugars (carbs like cake and donuts and pasta and bread) and sweets (Chocolate) to keep that feeling in the brain going.

Sugar in moderation is the only answer and it is time we stop buying products with extra added sugar that is there only to keep our addiction to it going.

Actually I use all three for different reasons:
I use Sweet and Low in my iced tea
I use Splenda in my cereal
I use Equal for anything else that needs a little sweetener.
For health reasons I have had to find ways to not use sugar and my choices are based only on my personal preferences..

Splenda is a derivative of sugar cane just refined out to be "sugar free"
Equal is made from aspartame an artificial chemical sweetener
Sweet and Low is made from saccarin another artificial sweetener.
it is a matter of personal preference which you use, i use splenda because i feel it tastes the best.
