I do not practice witchcraft and I realize that it is against your religion but why a disproportionate amount of hate against this particular viewpoint then any other that goes against your faith?

Im referencing the Godcamp (Harry Potter) scene where people clap because the lady said witches would be killed back in the day.
Yes I also realize that that camp probably isnt the best example of normal Christians.

Isnt every other religion an affront to the "one true god"?

The question and maybe some of you did answer it this way is this.

Why MORE hate than any other "false" religion?

Im NOT a witch.

One reason, I suspect, is that "Witchcraft" isn't an organized religion, so it can't defend itself with the scripture, culture, and leaders that Religions such as Islam, Hinduism, Judaism and Buddhism can.

Just about anyone can call himself a witch, and find practices that he likes and incorporate them into a spiritual practice. I think a lot of witches view this as a strength of Witchcraft.

But it also means that Witchcraft doesn't have the discipline and organization to properly represent itself.

Also, "Witch" is a very broad term which can include Wiccans, but can also include green ladies on broomsticks who melt when Dorothy throws a bucket of water on them.

I believe God when He said witchcraft, magic, sorcery, etc. are of Satan. It goes against God. So yes I hate witchcraft. That does not mean I hate a children's book that has witches in it because God was talking about reality. It also does not mean I want witches dead. I cannot ever imagine clapping at the thought of someone being killed. I have never heard such an un-Christian-like statement before.

May God Bless you.

I never heard of what your talking about, but I just wanted to input that I'm a Christian and would never want anyone to be put to death because of their beliefs or religions. I would never clap at someones death. I think it's sad that so many people got put to death in the witch trial days. I pray that something like that never happens again.

This all seems so campy, no pun intended. To practice witchcraft is to give yourself over to demonic spirits- by it's very definition. When people have done this they have ended up crazy, addicted, insane, and demon possessed. Who wants anyone to destroy them self in this manner?

It's not that we hate witchcraft so much, we love the people, but maybe we see a little more of the evil behind all the deception. If a man walks off a cliff and was warned, someone did all they could to help that person.

I love reading the Harry Potter books. Oh yes, and I'm Christian.

I roll my eyes when anyone gets on a tangent that "Harry Potter promotes witchcraft". Pffft, please. It is a fictional series and the author has said as much!!

Besides, there is NO link between Potter and those who claim to be real witches/wizards, etc.

People love drama. That pretty much sums it up.

Deuteronomy 18:10, 11 & 12 God speaking to Israel
there shall not be found among you any one that makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that uses divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch.
Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord: and because of these abominations the Lord thy God does drive them out from before you.
Thou shalt be perfect with the Lord thy God.
for these nations, which thou shalt possess, listened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for you, the Lord thy God has not suffered you so to do.

Divination: Saul asked the witch of Endor to "divine unto me" and they practiced whirling arrows in a quiver and deciding answers to questions.

Witch(mekashep) denotes a form of magic. Root meaning "to cut up" and may refer to herbs and brews for magic.

Pharmaka (drug) term used in Micah 5:12 for drugs or herbs used superstitiously to produce magic. Enchanter or sorcerer..

Wizard(yide oni) term is related to the verb "to know" or "to consult" a familiar spirit.

Necromancer: Hebrew for one who asks of the dead.

ALL THESE PRACTICES ARE CLEARLY CONDEMNED BY GOD. If you are a Christian you take God at His Word and do not disobey His commands.

Witchcraft existed because people were breathing in a type of mold that made their brains wacked; I can't hate people for that, it wasn't their fault. Honest to God, look it up....scientists are researching that mold that existed back in the Salem witch trials and some is still found today; tests show that it made people trip out.

Witchcraft is condemned as Satanic in the Bible. Of course, I don't believe in the Bible for multiple reasons, but that is the "logical" reason.
