Careful, learning English on Yahoo might be bad since people don't spell or use words correctly.

Go to a website that captures your interest (sports, movies, video games...). Then read the articles and information there. Not only is it written well (for the most part), but you should also find new, pertinent words.

The best way to lose your accent is to try and imitate or copy a good english speaker. Watch sports and listen to the commentators, they always talk alot to explain the fast action.

I think the best way to study a foreign language is with tapes. If you forget to pay attention, you can play the same tape again. And please, please, pay attention to the accent and try to imitate it. Yahoo Answers can be useful, but the English you see here can be really bad.

If you are more than about nine years old, you will never be able to learn to speak a foreign language without a foreign accent. I'm an American from a place where different accents are so common we often don't even notice them. A foreign accent will not be held against you, but a lower-class American accent will.

Nobody knows all the words in English. When I read a book or a newspaper, I have a dictionary by my side. English has more words than any language. The only one that comes even remotely close is Chinese, with fewer than half as many.

I speak Spanish badly and I speak Korean much, much worse. People can understand every word I say in Spanish, but nobody has ever mistaken me for a native. I can say something in Korean clear as a bell, to my ears, and the Koreans will be clueless. Good luck. You can contact me at magneticbungee@verizon.net

It's impossible for you, at your age now, to speak without an accent. Just be happy how you sound. So long as you're understandable, you're fine.

I suggest playing online video games to increase your vocabulary. Games such as point-and-click games and roleplaying games use a lot of new vocabulary which can help you learn.

My wife is from Mexico, and she found a wonderful book on Ebay called English without an accent.
She's always talking about how much it helped her to all her friends from Mexico. I know that there are lots of good English programs on Ebay. And things are usually not very expensive on Ebay.
