Think of your favorite places, characters from books or films; authors, foods, cities and songs...

Maybe a color or a philosopher. Azure, Nietzsche, Plato...?

Name them after a god and goddess, or deity? Buddha and Krishna? Wait, is Krishna the female or is it Vishnu?

Last names as first names are unique too...if you like Walt Whitman, go for Whitman instead of Walt.

Old lady names are cool...Harriet, Dorothy, Euphegenia...

Also, since you have a pair of cats, you could name them after famous (or silly pairs)...Donnie & Marie? Bonnie & Clyde? Freud and Jung? Thatcher & Churchill? Masters & Johnson?

How about countries! Trinidad and Kashmir...or if you're an activist: Darfur & Rwanda.

Try anagrams, too. Anagrams are fun. An anagram is a re-arrangement of the letters in a word. There's a link I have someplace for an anagram generator (I will get it.) You type in a word or name, and it gives you all possible letter combinations.

Here's the link: http://wordsmith.org/anagram/index.html

HAPPY NAMING! :) ^..^

Cats are such unique fellow travelers on planet Earth in that their personalities give them names. Native Americans never named their infants until they exhibited certain qualities. On the other hand, our oldest cat was named Spook because she was born just before Halloween. Of course now she is known as Pookie, but then again no cat has only one name. That is the general rule. Our second cat is Munchie because that is what she does. Loves to tear apart cardboard boxes and other stuff with her teeth. Has to be a complex there. Then there is Cindy 2. Also known as Cindy Lou Who. A carbon copy of our first Cindy the mouse trap only much fatter. Just wing it. The cat won't care and most of the time she/he won't come when you call them anyway. Of course there are exceptions. Cindy 2 acts like a dog. You should see her tail wag! Cats, sheesh. Gotta luv 'em.

you should have the cat for a few days to learn it's personality then usually a name just pops in your head. I have a cat named Skizzler because he stretches out on the floor and low crawls across the room.

Well, a male would be cute as Tyrone, or Checho. But it all depends on the cats personality. A girl could be Uniquewa.

i'd call the male Batu. it is Ghengis Khan's grandson and the chief of the Golden Horde. a great solid male call and so stunning for a kitty. For the female, i'd save on the Mongol topic and do Toregene. She replace into the mummy of one of the Khan's. returned a solid call for a good looking kitty.
