Jews aren't an ethnic group they are a religion (or people descended from those who had a religion) made up of people of every race including representatives that are Western CHinese, and Black Ethiopians. That being "Jewish" is an ethnicity was an idea developed by Theadore Herzl in his book Der Judenstaat. He felt anti-semitism was caused by religious tension, and proposed Jews start defining themselves as an ethnic group, abandon their religion, and create a state in which they could be like all other people's, thus eliminating any cause for anti-semitism.

Anyways, most Christians are not anti-semitic. Many are uncomfortable around Jews, mostly because they are scared of being accused of anti-semitism. In AMerica, most Christians are philo-semitic (loving Jews) to a degree where they are usually manipulated by the Israel lobby into supporting immoral actions of Israel in order to prove they are not anti-semitic.

I am not now, nor have I ever been anti-semitic. Generalizations tend to include people who don't fit the type.

I have read my Bible. I know that Jesus was a Jew, and that salvation wouldn't have been possible if he hadn't died on that cross. Jews are Jesus' people, and God not only approves of them, but chose them as his people, so why have a problem with them?

I think the people who blame the Jews for Jesus' death totally miss the bigger picture.

Royalpain and Yaabro are correct, and gave great answers that showed knowledge and understanding, as did many other people.

I have to answer this question like I have answered a few other of a similar type, if a Christian is anti-semitic then he/she is not acting as a Christian, a great many people in this world are called Christians, far less live the life as they should, and by the way I am a Christian myself.

True followers of Christ are not anti-Semitic. The Jews/Israelites are God's chosen people and Christ himself was a Jew. American Christians have always been a strong ally for Jews around the world and in Israel to the point of giving of ourselves to protect their right to exist.

Certainly some Christians are anti-semitic. I think it has to do with what Christianity has become over the centuries.

Even though I grew up Catholic, I no longer consider myself Christian. Many Christians are simultaneously taught 2 points of view: the Jews are God's chosen people, yet, they rejected Christ and had him crucified. Personally I reject both points of view, along with the view that Jesus was God. Jesus was an enlightened teacher and healer who called himself the "son of God", yet he also maintained that we are all sons and daughters of God.

So, in my opinion, anti-semitisim is fueled by those that need to believe that some people are "chosen" by God and by those who have misrepresented Jesus' teachings to suit their own means. Some people feel like they have to "blame" others for their unhappiness and that's where antisemitism and other hateful sentiments originate.

why do Americans Christians and European hate Jews? Most of the world's problem could traced back to greed, power, and jealousy.
while Europe was in a slump during the dark ages, Jews were better off as they were the business and the bank of their times. They lent to Kings, churches, everyone. People developed deep jealousy over time which was passed on to their children and so forth.
To validate my argument even the Church and the Kings of Europe were jealous of their own. The Knights Templar were bankers after the crusade. People were jealous of their power and wealth, so they had the Templar's wealth confiscated and the organization was tracked down and murder,

Greed, hate, jealousy, what horrible human traits.

Many many reasons but all of them bad. I am so saddened by all this. I just read that Martin Luther was a Jew hater by the end of his life. Jews have given so much to society and suffered more than anybody. I know God loves them, and we are grafted in.

Germany and Austria especially have a long history of hating the Jews. I am praying that this turns around. At a local int. house of prayer every Fri. is dedicated to Israel. Love and Shalom.

They are not real Christians.
They are the religious.
The real Christian knows that the Jews are God's chosen people.
That they themselves are Jews.
Rom 2:29 But he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that which is of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter; and his praise is not from men, but from God.

They know that The Jewish people were hardened until the fullness of the gentiles come in, then they also will become believers in Jesus Christ. Thus all Israel will be saved.
Rom 11:25 For I do not want you, brethren, to be uninformed of this mystery, lest you be wise in your own estimation, that a partial hardening has happened to Israel until the fulness of the Gentiles has come in;
Rom 11:26 and thus all Israel will be saved; just as it is written, "THE DELIVERER WILL COME FROM ZION, HE WILL REMOVE UNGODLINESS FROM JACOB."

I don't hate or love Israel, however I respect Israel. It has the power to ruin its enemies, but it uses restraint in pushing back the enemy. IMHO, Israel lives at peace with as many as possible. However, they are surrounded on all sides by countries that refuse to accept that Israel has a right to exist.

What I do have a problem is with radical Muslims who have fought against Christians in dozens of countries around the world. The want world domination just like Hitler did.

I have never known a Christian that is anti-Semitic. The Jews are God's chosen people. Christians don't (or shouldn't) hate anyone.

May God bless you.
