Oh! You're so lucky!!!

1.Sunscreen (and pick a high SPF if you're fair and burn easily). And Sunglasses. You'll be miserable if the sun is in your eyes. Also, if you don't like to sit directly in the sun, you may want to bring an umbrella.

2. A comfortable blanket, and a couple of extra ones to dry off and use to prop up your head

3. WATER!!!

4. Maybe some fruits in a cooler (or sandwiches, or something)

5. READING MATERIAL!!! I would choose a good novel, but if you are not inclined, at least bring a magazine. You may want to even brush up on your Spanish ... :)

6. I'm a writer, so I ALWAYS carry a small notebook with me. The sun relaxes me and I'm able to feel inspired, somehow. The notebook is optional.

7. If you can't be without music, bring long your ipod or CD player. Personally, I like to listen to the wind and the waves.

8. Other than that, I can't think of any other absolute necessities -- aside from your swimsuit, of course. And DON'T think you can get away with a speedo. NO ONE looks good in them. I repeat: no one.

Just go and enjoy yourself. If you're well-hydrated, creamed up and comfortable, just relax and enjoy the sun.

I'm jealous.

bring a good quality 40 sun block.....a hat....an unbrella, sounds super dumb, but it gets really hot in the d.r. and a sun burn will totally destroy your vacation.....a tee shirt and a cover for your legs will help.....just remember to keep applying the water proof block and you should have a great time
