A great friendship is the way to a great love. ♥

I've been friends with my boyfriend for a long time before we started dating. We've been together for a year now and plan on getting married after college.

A relationship based on friendship is the best kind. You already know who the person is, you already feel comfortable around them, etc. You don't have to go through the awkward getting-to-know-them phase in the beginning.

I don't think it's a matter of smarts. Although, falling for your best friend does tend to complicate things, it's not like it's a bad thing. Obviously, this person is your best friend for a reason: their smart, you can relate to them, they listen to you, they're there for you, and so on. Aren't those all of the things we look for when we seek someone to be in a relationship with? I'm currently engaged to one of my best friends, and it is the best relationship I've ever had. You can't help who you fall for. The only downer would be if the feelings aren't returned, but if your friendship is genuine you'll be able to move past that.

That's usually how the best relationships are created. Be very careful about revealing your true feelings too soon, or you might lose the friendship. If you do start a relationship, promise each other that if things don't work out you can always go back to being as close of friends as you were before.

probably yes because you know your best friend better than anyone else and you can trust them

but there is always the first move to get out of the way it will be hard to ask your friend in that way they might get offended and say we will always just be friends and then you feel a fool

I think that is the best kind of love there is. You already know every thing about the person so it would kind of be your soulmate
