i am working out in a gym trying to make my arms legs and stomach stronger, trying to get slimmer but is it better to do work outs from magazine or do real sweat at the gym

I find the gym to be more efficient, because there're less distractions there, so I stay focused. Plus, my gym has different machines, and different classes that I can take for couple bucks, so I get to try new things and I don't get bored.

Neither!

I love to run, and I tire out so much faster when indoors on the treadmill. I go outside, I have a route that has uphill and downhill sections and flat recovery zones, and I can pound out 4 miles without batting an eyelash.

I do have weights in the basement of my house, and strength training videos, but I do prefer the outdoors for cardio workouts.

I find I work out harder and longer at the gym. The atmosphere is more conducive to exercise.
