Why don't you like it? The Americans have so many cinammon sweets, they make my mouth water! They stopped selling any cinammon based confectionery in Britain because no one buys it!!

Why!! Why do you forsake me!! I need cinnamon sweets! I want all of you emailing Wrigleys and any other sweet companies to sell Big Red and other cinammon sweets here!

YES I AM A FREAK!

try the recepie bellow to make your own sweets.

try melting in a saucpan caster sugar about 100g and water about 65ml until it comes brownish. take of the heat and add about 3 tsb of treakle or maple syrup. then add about 3-4 tsb of ground cinnamon. combine all together, if its too runny, put it on the heat and keep stiring(should resemble slightly runny syrup). then put in ice cube moulds and refrigerate. hope it helps.

I LOVE CINNAMON SWEETS and I'm British, I asked Wrigleys about Big Red years ago and they said there wasn't the demand for it although they did bring it out briefly a while ago. The only satisfactorily cinnamon-y sweets I've found here is cinnamon and sizzling cinnamon Jelly Belly beans but these aren't cheap and are American anyway. You can buy Cinnamon Grahams and cinnamon rolls (like Danish pastries) if that's consolation. I need cinnamon sweets too. I love that burney tongue watering mouth thing. Cinnamon is sooooo lush.

When I was in Scotland I heard the people say that Kentucky Fried Chicken was too too spicy for them. This in a country that has a curry take away on every other corner.

Why not order you cinnamon based sweets online. I'm sure you would adore Cinnabons-they're sweet rolls made with red hot candies and lots of cinnamon sprinkled on top. Sorry to tempt your tastebuds.

I like cinnamon. I am not 100% British, but I live here and I use it in some baking, but I do not bake so often. Apparently it is the in thing for diabetics, helping to regulate their blood sugar levels. I do not know, I will have to try.

As for the answer from the person saying it is too sweet - it is probably because it is mixed with sugar. Cinnamon is earthy in flavour.

Funnily enough having visited Ohio a couple of times, my daughter lives there, I have ACQUIRED a taste for cinnamon whilst there, I have gotten into a habit of adding a little to my coffee. But it is an ACQUIRED taste, I love the smell of CINNAMON candles to. And slowly getting to like cinnamon buns.

Give us time - it will happen I expect.
