I have a 1997 Sunfire that I want to sell, but do not know if I can sell "As Is" in Ontario, Canada. I would rather have the buyer deal with the safety inspection, etc. Should I do up a contract?

Yes, you can sell it as is - it's perfectly legal. Just write "sold as is" on the receipt. This means that you cannot be held liable for anything that goes wrong with the car.

When you register a car at MTO, it's up to the buyer to provide a safety, e-test and insurance before they can get plates.

Safeties expire in 30 days, so It's usually best to have the buyer get it so you don't waste your money if you don't sell it within that time frame.

Yes you can , it means you'll get less for it and the buyer would probably want to have it inspected to see what it might need to certify.
