I look at homosexuality kind of like alcoholism. I think some people are predisposed to it. On that same level, you can get to a point where drinking doesn't consume your life, even if you fall off the wagon a couple of times. You are never cured of your alcoholism, but with God you can still live a great life. I think that man might still have some temptations, but if he stays faithful to God, then it will be easier to say no. I have never believed that people are born gay. It's crazy. If they can be born gay, what's to stop pedophiles from saying they were born to loves kids, or trisexuals (I'm not exactly sure what the word is) from saying they were born to love animals, or necrophiliacs from saying they were born to love dead people. It makes no sense. People who are gay can stop if they choose to, it's just a little harder to say no.

One does not "cure" of homosexuality in a couple of months. Sorry. It's a whole thought structure, a whole emotional makeup.
Or is he using the Jimmy Swaggart argument: "the devil made me do it, and now I'm cured of the devil"?
In any case, God is his judge. I'm not. I just would make sure a person like that never had the opportunity of giving leadership to a church again. But I can't control what others will do. (For instance, Swaggart simply left his denomination, went independent, and started over - twice, I understand).

God is a miracle worker, and therefore, if Ted Haggard desires to be free, he can turn to God for help and guess what! God hears those who call on His name! The Bible says that for the Christian God provides an escape for us when we are tempted.

What cure? Hume believed that human beings are animals that are trying to grow and extend to become gods. We are animals first. If he has ever been attracted to men, that will never change. He can deny it, pretend like he never was attracted to men, pretend like it was drugs -- but he still found hmmm... pounding someone in the butt desirable, someone with chest hair and biceps. Remember, he can live the rest of his life not doing it, but he still WANTS to. Either you have a desire or you do not. You think if you pray that you no longer want to bang girls, your member will not get hard when you see them? You will spend the rest of your life praying and away from them, but when you see a nice piece of "behind," you will still want to bang them.

You can't be "cured" of homosexuality, you are born homosexual.

I'm predicting a relapse.

Leave it to people who believe in a being with no proof of existance to cure something that has no proof of being an illness.
