My parakeet always has his back to me... I think that means he scared but I am too! What do i do!???

You could also talk to him, slowly, and keep bringing your hand closer and closer to him each time. Also, birds are smart..They will know if you are scared. To be honest, they are more scared of you than you are of them. Try talking to him, and after a while...take a few days, and just set your hand in the cage for a while...it will get the bird used to your hand, and then it might even come up to it when comfortable enough. It will take a while, but you want to hand train it before doing anything else.

tempt him to turn around w/ some food let him eat it wile faceing u with (millet works best) luck!
