There is this girl I like and we have been best friends for a long time. She says the only reason she doesnt want to go out with me is because she thinks that if we break up it will ruin our friendship and we might hate each other. How can i get her to go out with me and like me?

Tell her that if yout friendship has lasted this long then why wouldnt it last after a break up? A simple "lets go back to being best friends" should not ruin such a great friendship. GOOD LUCK HUNN.. ♥ ♥

If you two have been friends for a really long time, i doubt that you two would break up. But if you did, just say that you can handle it and ask if you can still be good friends. But there's an extremely likely chance that you two won't break up, for I had this same situation, except we weren't worried about breaking up, because we liked each other so much. Me and her are still together, and it's a good idea to just talk to her about how she really feels about having a relationship, and say that don't worry, i wouldn't break up with you, and i wouldn't hate you if you broke up with me. but onyl say that stuff if you sincerely mean it. Hope you two can get togehter and stay friends, and hopefully a couple, for a long time.

... i feel your pain...even though the genders are reversed....i have the same problem..my best friend is a guy, and he feels the same about me, he fears if we start dating, that it will ruin our friendship, and if we break-up, he'll lose his best friend....all i can say is, stick in there, and just hope for the best. (At least that's what i'm doing...) :(

I'm sorry to say but if you are really good close friends then this is a bad idea and she is right. I'd stay friends.Sorry.
