of course i'm aware that you can't in general but there's often an exception, just like mt hood in oregon where you can ski in august. if there is one tiny spot way up in the alps that cost a million dollars but you can sji there, then the answer would be YES you can ski in Italy in May.

Yes is possible,even in July/August, but just on the perennial glaciers of Italian Alps.

Other places where you can ski even in summer are in the Italian region Val d'Aosta ( Courmayer - Les Deux Alpes) with the Monte Bianco glacier.

I don't understand answers saying you cannot ski in Italy in May.
I guess they are not skiing and are not Italian since everybody here knows the 'sci estivo' (summertime ski) that is possible to be performed on a few glaciers of the Italian Alps.
I'm surprised reading that also Italians don't know this...!!

No, I don't think so...it's too warm in May over there.
