Im about to buy a 2004 Ford Escape with 89,000 miles. Im getting what i would consider a great deal on it at $6,900. What i would like to know from anyone who's owned one from this year with a good amount of miles on it, is what problems have you had & what has needed to be replaced.

Heres a good answer for you. I have a 2003 Escape as a taxi in the harsh climate of Edmonton with 400'000kms or 240,000 miles. The transmission just packed it in which is a very long service life. Theres a new tranny in it now and this has been and still is an excellent vehicle. This little truck still drives like new. I should easily expect to get 400,000 miles before it craters. Hope this helps.

I have a 2004 escape and I love it. However I've had to replace some things already. Drove it off the lot and spark plug had to be replaced, then bushings replaced in the summer and recently my brake pad and when it gets to be -20 my brake will sometimes freeze when I first start the car. Do i think it;s the car? No I truly believe that the dealership I bought it from failed to do a full check that they promised. My escape came with 96,000 miles and I got it for $9,000. The price seems low on your car so I would double check to make sure there are no problems with the car. I'm definitely not discouraging you from getting it because I love my car even though I've had a few issues. If you choose to buy it I definitely recommend getting it checked though with someone you trust.
