Johnson was quick, tough as any heavyweight, great defensively. Charles was a good boxer having beaten Louis and Walcott. Johnson's quickness would have won this decison for him. I don't think he would knock Charles out but Johnson had the better boxing skills...

Charles lost to Marciano, (twice if I am not mistaken). Jack Johnson would have beaten both of them on the same night, back to back.

Honestly, I think Jack Johnson would have held his own against Ezzard and Rocky at the same time with all three of them in the ring together. Most fighters fight other fighters, Jack Johnson fought the entire racist establishment of an era. No contest.

This fight would be great. I think both fighters are talented and has what it takes to go all the way with one another. I think Jack Johnson had the slight edge in defense and chin. Charles had the slight edge in power and stamina. They would be equal in speed. I think that this fight wouldn't produce great action, but it will nevertheless be entertaining to a certain degree.
They are so evenly matched that it can go either way. I think that Charles will be more efficient since the training methods of his time are more helpful than the way boxers train in Johnson's era. I think that Charles will pull out the victory by way of majority decision with the cards probably reading(10-point must system:) 147-144,Charles; 148-145,Charles, 146-146.
