I asked a girl out yesterday that I briefly know, she gives me her phone number and we set a day, which is today. I told her I would call her in the afternoon. I called her to finalize everything and I get to her voicemail. Her voicemail is just a default greeting that says her number isnt available right now and to leave a message. So its been an hour since I left a voicemail and no calls back.
Why do girls do this?

we do it because we might think you are sweet, but no chemistry, and we don't want to make you feel bad and we don't have the nerve to turn you flat down, so we say yes and then deal with the consequences of wether or not to go through with a date we don't want to go on later. girls do it all the time. we think we are being nice, but it's really just cowardice, I've realized, as I've gotten older. sorry but that's the truth. she isn't feeling you.

She might of not wanted to hurt your feelings by saying no so she figured you would just get the picture when she didnt answer her phone. and she might be busy lost broke her phone, but she can check her messages. Dont call her anymore. If you see her again and pretends as if she doesnt know what happend then leave her alone shes a coward. If you called her once and didnt leave your number wait til later on tonight and call her and leave your number, then if she doesnt try to contact her screw her, she probably wasnt all that anyway. From what you describe it is part of the game.....I give you number, you call....I act uninterested, so you like/want me more. I could be totally wrong, though, it could be just that she isn't interested in you and doesn't know how to tell you that she doesn't want a date with you.
I'm not sure, I'm not her or one of her friends whom she will probably confide in about this, so if you are friends with her friends, maybe you could ask them/her?
Otherwise, I think it's tacky.....If someone asked me for my number I would tell them no or else tell them I wasn't interested for a date if I knew them. What she did was beyond me, but I'm not like her, I guess....
Direct approach always is best, from both sides, men and women. I really do feel for you because I feel like women do not play by the rules and do this sort of thing to you guys. Maybe she's busy and has to work, but otherwise, it sounds like she is just not really interested in anything with you right now....Its not really fair, but don't get hung up about her over it, there are better picks from women who will treat you better.......

I think you may be too eager. Give her until 4:00 and if she doesn't call back, go out with your friends, or do something else that you like. I don't know why a girl would do this. It's mean, and inconsiderate. However you deserve someone who will treat you the way you would treat them. I wish you all the luck.

We don't do this really unless there's an issue with family or getting ready for the date or something important. If she doesn't respond at all today then you know she wasn't woman enough to just be honest and say she didn't want to go out with you. It's nothing you did she's just an idiot if that's the case.

maybe she lost her phone or sommething, don't get so freaked, she will more than likely be at the place you set at the time that you set. If she isn't there it is probably just because she is nervous about being with you, I mean you did say that you only met briefly.

she may not be interested
she probably wants you to guess and always have her on your mind
or she's probably doing some other guy at her place and she'll meet up with you later. I'm sure it ok
girls are hard to figure out
