I have three cats. Have had cats since I was a kid and that goes back at least 50 years. Cats actually have a rather wide vocabulary as animals go. For example. If you are sitting down and the cat jumps up on your lap, often that leap is vocalized by a puuurt sound. That is actually a greeting. In most cases a constant Meow is a vocalization wanting attention. As for the Siamese, they are much more vocal than many other breeds. We have a tortoise-shell. She rarely mews at all, but when she does, the sound is very sad like she is left out of the affection. Believe it or not, there are books on the market that teach you how to speak cat language. Kid you not! I'm getting rather fluent in it myself. If you don't want to be bothered by your cat at any given moment, you give it a guttural hiss, which in cat language means, back off! I don't want you on my lap right now. Can't shout at a cat with human language. It only scares them.

I don't believe that the Siamese breed differs from any other regarding meowing. Some cats do it because they're still young, lively, and emotional. Some do it because they need attention and are hungry. If it becomes bothersome let your vet / a vet check the cat over to be certain that all is well. Good luck!

Is it a girl? Females get more vocal when they're in heat.

If it a boy, or a fixed female, then it could be a lot of things, unfortunately. I don't know how long you've had this cat, but at some point you'll leqarn your cat's meows, just like parents learn their children's cries. It could be pain, hunger, or just wanting some love.

As for the breed, I've never had one, so I can't tell ya if it's a breed thing. :(

Oh yes, they are noisy always meowing about something. They have differnt kinds of meows too. When my Siamese is mad at me he makes sounds almost like barking. He does less meowing if I feed him good quality cat food or eles he meows all day and drives me crazy. I think Siamese are smarter too. Mine knows a lot of my dogs commands.

I gave my mom a Siamese kitten I found one day. She loved it. I guess the kitten got used to the idea that it was special. Each time it wanted something, it meowed. Not too unusual, because out of all the cats we owned, they all did that. Just that my B/W short hair learned to swipe a paw at my leg to get attention. Learned that on it's own.

It's known that Siamese breeds are talkative. And any breed that has siamese in them also seem to talk a lot. It's one of the best parts of the breed I think.

Siamese cats are know for being more vocal than other breeds. They also like to choose a favorite person. Maybe it's choosing you.

I have a seal point and blue point and one is loud and meows alot when he wants attention and the other is quiet and will just hop in your lap.

I think it all comes down to the personality of the cat, one of mine is shy and the other is out going and not afraid of anything. They are set in there ways.
