Swimming is mainly an aerobic excercise, but you can use the sport to build muscle tone as well.
If you mix in a few sets with hand paddles and then the kick-board you can increase resistance on various body parts. When you increase the resistance you are able to work more muscle which will then lead to better 'tone'.

Yes swimming is an excellent exercise for a total body workout if you know how to swim properly for maximum efficiency. But it is not recommend as a regular activity if you're trying to get lean. Regular swimming will increase fat near the skin. So occasional swimming would be ok in this case.

Swimming is the acceptable exercising of all. You get to apply each and each muscle crew on your body and also you're not to any extent further getting the wear and tear and tear from effect, notwithstanding the great factor about resistance. How in structure it is going to save you relies upon on how vigorously you swim. it really is like the adaptation between strolling and operating. the faster you swim and the further laps you do, the further appropriate your result.

i dont think so. havent you ever noticed all the fat people in the pool? its the number one choice of most bbws.
even if you swim back and forth, i think it will just up your heart rate. have you noticed the body of swimmers? they have gigantic arms and look a bit fatty. no offence to anyone! i still swim every now and then to mix it up. but its more for my health. i dont bank on the fact its doing anything great for my figure. i feel like running and lifting do more for me.

Swimming is fantastic exercise! You use all of your muscles and it's no-impact, so your joints don't suffer. My son plays water polo and he is buff. Have you ever seen water polo players? Not an ounce of fat on them!
