If one is to become an engineer, he/she will definatle take a course in statics. but what if u wanna be a physicisist? Do u still need a statics course? I wanna drop my statics course cause im already taking physic 3, calc 3, and differentials (plus a P.E). But im not even sure if I need the statics course im taking.

If you plan on being a theoretical physicist, a course in statics is probably a waste of your time. While it's true that vector fields and vector forces make up a big part of physics, a course in statics is too limited of an application of such vector fields. A course in statics will do very little for the theoretical understanding of physics. Any study of classical mechanics should be sufficient to cover the basics. The only reason why a physicist might want to take a course in statics is because he plans on doing work which may involve engineering, such as design of apparatuses.

I just learned statics on my own in a matter of weeks, because it's an useful thing to know about.

Change to an Engineering Degree in the specialty you like, it's not too late to go for a Masters with the courses you already have. A professioinal designation (P.Eng.) will get you more work. I know from personal experience. And eventually you are going to want to apply what you learn rather than just theorize all the time.

relies upon on what you outline as being a "computer." Calculators pass as a recommendations decrease back as historic Greece, with the abacus and the slide rule. the first programmable gadget became an astrological clock made in 1206, which worked truly like a cuckoo clock (in effortless words, musicians as a replace of a chook). In 1801, a programmable textile loom made sorts immediately away, in accordance to a punchcard equipment. yet no longer until eventually the Nineteen Forties did we truly see some thing that look like cutting-edge-day pcs, or perhaps then they were wide and took up flooring of homes. own pcs in effortless words got here about interior the Nineteen 1970s, and the first one would likely be the Xerox Alto, released in 1973, and designed by Chuck Thacker. The links in my factors will be of interest to you.

Statics is the precursor is dynamics. Many of the concepts transfer into dynamics, which as a physicist you will need.

Why don't you talk to your adviser and find out if you need it or not. I dont think anyone here would be able to tell you.
