Based on my age, height, weight, gender, and activity level...I burn approximately 2300 calories a day without going out of my way to exercise. I eat very healthy foods, (with the occasional cheat) and go swimming several times a week. There is absolutely no way that I am eating more calories than I am burning. When I first started my weight loss regimen, the pounds MELTED off, but I haven't really lost anything substantial for about 4 weeks now. Why?

if you keep your routine the same, your body will get used to it, and not burn as many calories. thus, youru calorie deficit is not as great and you are not losing weight. switch up your food and exercise plan! add lots of variety.

You've plateaued. Don't worry, it's normal. You're body has no problem burning what it takes in, but if you have anything stored, it takes a little while longer. Talk to your doctor. They can help you make a healthy decision about whether or not to cut out calories or to increase your activity level. Look for foods that naturally give your metabolism a boost. Don't go taking pills. There is no reason to kill your liver for your figure.

When you reduce the amount of calories you are taking in you lose weight quickly at first but then hit a plateau as your metabolism adjusts itself to your new level of calorie intake. In order to keep losing you may need to up the amount of calories you burn by getting more exercise.

Maybe your body adapted to what you were doing. Try changing something. IE more exercise or eating differently. It usually takes 6 or 8 weeks for you body to adapt and then the results start slowing dow until there are barely any results. Just change the type of exercise routine or eating habits.

Maybe you really don't need to lose weight because you are already at a healthy weight.

But, losing weight takes alot of time and after the 1st few weeks you lose the most and then you don't keep losing weight at that same pace because there isn't as much that needs to be lost!

Plateau. That is where you are. Rejump your diet by deleting calories for several days and increase your cardio at the same time. Good Luck.

Muscle weighs more than fat, keep that in consideration.

I think it is honestly better to look at your body and how it looks to see if it's how you like it rather than looking at the scale because a person in excellent shape with tons of muscle will weigh more than a person who isn't in shape, with just fat on them.

I'm pretty sure from how you make it sound you are in excellent shape, and probably just gaining muscle mass which is why you aren't seeing your numbers go down.

As long as you are happy with how you look, the number shouldn't matter.
