All types of Buddhist religions, which are actually not religions, but are a philosophy of Life, because Buddhism has no creator god.
A group (no matter how large or small) is constituted as being a religion, if it has a belief in a creator god, such as Hinduism {Brahma), Judaism {YHWH), Christianity {Jesus), and Islam {Allah) - sorry for having let any religions out of the picturce: I did not intend to offend/harm anyone.
I respect Buddhism's Philosophy, and the people who practice it with true sincerity, because it demonstrates forgiveness toward all people, Patience, Tolerance {very enduring, long suffering type patience), doesn't hold gudges toward anyone, practices Compassion {which I believe is the wish for all living beings to have peace of mind, to be happy, and to be free from all suffering), they practice real
Loving-kindness, Generosity, and Atruism. But especially I respect Buddhism, and those who practice it with genuine sincerity, because they respect the Free Will of others, not forcing their beliefs upon others, but offer help only to those who ask for help. They not not judge, criticize, or condemn people, and this most of all is what makes them sincere and "humble" in the practice of their Philosophy of Life. But this does not make a Buddhist better than anyone else, who is not buddhist. We all have the same potential in this life.
Sorry for being a bit too wordy, but this is simply my opinion.
Thanks for your Question.

How can a true religion be peaceful in today's world? The peace of cowardice is what I mostly see. The Peace that is beyond this world's knowledge, is the inner peace that is between you and the Lord. One must speak out when you are confronted by abortion, gay marriage, euthanasia, embryonic stem cell research etc. This is all you hear practically these days. Too many people say nothing when confronted by evil, this is how it grows.

Buddhism. Even though they tend to be great at martial arts, this is for their own protection and not for show or to harm. A true Buddhist monk would never harm a living thing and have agreed within themselves to protect, as best they can, ALL living things including plants and animals.

Althought I am British I am married to a Thai lady and live in Thailand. Buddhism is peaceful BUT they believe in reincarnation and they honestly believe they will come back luckier if they do good in the current life. This could explain their total recklessness on Thai roads.

Buddhism is the most peaceful, but its more of a way of life than a religion.
The followers actions show it most. There has never been a holocaust, crusade, spanish inquisition, or witch burning done by Buddhists.
