I really don't understand.

Reasons vary and also depends on what they are getting done and maybe why.

Some will cry even if only for a trim (which I don't really understand).

Others cry when they are getting a lot of hair cut off. A girl who has hair down to her butt one day and then sporting a very short pixie the next would certainly turn on the waterworks for a while anyway, even if it was her idea for the radical change (she may just need time to adjust and get used to her new cut). Certainly that's understandable.

If the girl is a minor of young age, however, and is being forced to get a short haircut by a parent, guardian, or relative (for whatever reason; the child can't take care of her long hair, the adult in charge thinks short hair on her would be cute, etc.), she would start bawling and screaming throughout the shearing.

So to sum it up, it really depends on the situation and how much is being cut.

Change is an emotional thing. When girls get their hair cut, they see a different image looking back at them when they look in the mirror. If they like it or not, they worry what others will think.

Sometimes we cry out of fear that we are going to get a really bad haircut, and there is nothing we can do about repairing it.

some do, some dont. my friend does because she always has had beautiful long hair and one day they cut it up to her shoulders!
She started crying because she said before it looked girly and attractive,
and she wasnt used to short hair and that she may not have it like it was for a very long time(until it grows back) and thats why girls cry when they cut their hair.

because our hair is one of our most precious thing it makes us feel beutiuful aand feminine specially when its long. It makes a big difference on how you look when someone cuts ur hair to much and for some reason stylist dont seem to listen when u tell them u only want a trim not a complete new hair cut.

I'm guilty,I did cry once when I had my hair cut short.I had just broken up with a boyfriend, and it was a way of letting go of the past.Something like a make-over.

some people cry. some don't. I feel like crying but we only feel that way cuz hair brings attraction to guys, and girls just like long hair for some reason. I don't know why, but we do

I prefer hair which is shoulder length or longer, And also since that men who like ladies are more often then not directly, they like long hair because it looks more feminine, as most guys have short hair.

I dont know but as a hairdresser it drives you nuts! I've even had mom's cry when their 20 yr. old daughters decide to cut their hair off.

Neither do i! the way i look at it, it's hair, it grows back. At the same time, im not going to pull a britney and shave my head. I am one of the openminded girls who will try (almost) anything , including a hairstyle, once.
