They stay in heat for about a week sometimes two. Then they will go out of heat for about three weeks. Then come in again and so on and so on until she gets pregnant. You should discuss with your vet when they best time between heats would be to get her spayed. Unless you want kittens or a very ill cat every three weeks.

Approximately 2 weeks. The good thing is a female cat does not bleed during heat, but does make a lot of noise and cries. They usually stretch out their bodies and rise their hind quarters a lot. I find when I scratch the top of her hind quarters it seems to relieve her tension. Also, do not let them outside at anytime or you'll end up with a lot more kitty friends.
